"Josh is one of those guys who comes along and fills his music with such an inspiration and with such energy that it translates so easily and positively to anyone hearing it. He is a rare talent in both his ability to craft a song with a certain timeless quality to it, and then, man, his voice, well, I mean, damn, the kid can sing as good as anyone out there; a bright future – that one."

Midwest reggae music is reaching a new frontier and SkillinJah is blazing the trail. SkillinJah may seem new to the reggae scene, but is really going on
his 15th year in the business. Despite having over 200 singles
recorded and released through various labels (VP, Sony) and with
notable producers (Dean Frasier, Donahue Baker) & doing multiple stage
shows from Jamaica to New York(Sumfest, Sting) it seems people are
just now starting to catch on to his undeniable talent and skill that
he has had plenty of time to perfect. With the release of his latest 2
albums in less than a years time,(Emergency Spliff & Reality) on his
former Jah Roots bandmates label, GanJah Records, SkillinJah has seen
2, iTunes & Amazon Top 10 best selling reggae album debuts and 3
official music videos as well (Emergency Spliff, Skilla Dan Dem &
Ganja). SkillinJah, who was on a hiatus from performing live for a few years has recently been performing live again at select shows, with every crowd member singing along to his songs, already knowing them
word for word... It seems it's only a matter of time before the rest
of the reggae world will catch on and fall in love with SkillinJah as
Reggae, the word when spoken one can immediately envision artists both past and present that has set the industry standards for the growing genre. Reggae has evolved into styles fused with characteristics of each band and their signature sound. The Steppas are a Hawaii based band whose sound is that exact fusion of roots, rock, ska, and occasional lovers reggae. Heavily influenced by worldly reggae bands and artists The Steppas musical goal is to inspire generations of listeners to take constant strides in obtaining their goals and to never give up on their dreams! Dreams do come true, just ask the five core members of the band Star Alaniz, Kekolu Pavao, Makana Rosetti, Samuel Ikeda, and Bryan Legaspi. These island musicians have completed four full length tours in over 22 states and 60 U.S. cities. Releasing their debut self entitled EP in 2012, The Steppas EP hit #6 on the Itunes reggae charts. Their second release entitled The Love Shack gained popularity with listeners and quickly hit #2 on the Itunes charts and #6 on the U.S. billboard reggae charts. Not losing momentum their single, if we try was the precursor to their soon to be 2014 release of their latest EP, To you from we, this time #1 on the Itunes charts and #2 on the U.S. billboard reggae charts solidifying their movement as one of Hawaiis premier reggae bands. Though some faces may have change, the sound we have all come to love remains the same… SO ROACHES UP!!!!
White Glove Service
From San Diego to the Bay The White Glove Service has been revealing their creativity to California. There is passion instilled in every aspect of their sound. Each member brings a unique flavor to this medicine we call music. WGS faithfuls have witnessed them killing stages with national acts including Tomorrows Bad Seeds, Fortunate Youth, and Dub Seeds. No city is left disappointed when these four take the stage. With an album right around the corner and an impressive live performance, look out for White Glove.
In late 2010 the road began. Four strong opinions and four wildly different musical ideas collided. Guitarist Aaron Kipper and Bassist Stilz Stoudmire grew up in Fresno California. Their rhythmic and melodic compositions can be soothing and sweet or undeniably intense. Drummer Clayton Kraus took the long road to Fresno from Birmingham Alabama bringing progressive and driving beats. Singer Jacob Caswell moved to California from Seattle in 2008 but didn't meet the guys until November two years later. Lyrics and soul...
All lovers of Reggae, Ska, Punk, Rock, Ska, Dub and any good music in general can appreciate what these guys are doing. Things are only looking up for...
